Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Cloora app on Android, iPhone and iPad. Cloora is made by VMSTA Inc., Ontario, Canada. The Android section uses the same words as the privacy screen inside the app.
In short
- No account, no ads, no analytics.
- Your documents are scanned, read and stored on your device, encrypted.
- They leave your device only when you choose — to share, save, print or back up.
- VMSTA Inc. never receives your documents or their text.
Everything stays on your phone
Cloora scans, reads text and saves your documents on this phone, encrypted. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no internet permission, so it never uploads your documents.
When documents leave your phone
Only when you choose: sharing, saving or printing a document, or a backup to a folder you pick. Backups are encrypted with your password before they leave Cloora; if the folder is in a cloud app, that app uploads the encrypted file.
Google’s text reader
To find the page edges and read text, Cloora uses Google’s ML Kit, which works on this phone. Your pictures and text are never sent to Google. Google Play services may send Google anonymous usage numbers about these tools (for example, how long reading took). Cloora can’t turn this off.
Google services on your phone
If you allowed your phone to share usage and diagnostics with Google, Google Play may send us anonymous crash reports. These never contain your documents.
Cloora Pro
Cloora Pro is bought and checked through the Google Play Store app: Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and Cloora learns only whether Pro is owned. If you ask for the AI, the Google Play Store app downloads the AI model to this phone. The AI works on the phone and sends nothing anywhere — Cloora still has no internet permission.
Deleting your data
Privacy Dashboard › Delete all my data removes everything in one step. Uninstalling Cloora also deletes everything on this phone. Backups you made stay where you saved them. Cloora is not directed at children.
Cloora on iPhone and iPad
Everything stays on your device
Cloora scans, reads text and saves your documents on your iPhone or iPad, encrypted. It has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it never uploads your documents — VMSTA Inc. has no server that receives them.
Apple’s scanner and text reader
To find the page edges and read text, Cloora uses Apple’s document camera and Apple’s Vision text reader, which work on your device. The iPhone and iPad app contains no Google code.
When documents leave your device
Only when you choose: sharing, saving to Files or printing a document, or a backup to a place you pick. Backups are encrypted with your password before they leave Cloora.
Cloora’s documents are not included in your iCloud Backup unless you turn on Include in iCloud Backup. Then an encrypted Cloora Backup — which only your password or Recovery Key can open — is included in your iCloud Backup, which Apple stores under its own privacy policy.
Crash reports
If you chose to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These never contain your documents.
Cloora Pro
Cloora Pro is bought and checked through the App Store: Apple handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and Cloora learns only whether Pro is owned. On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Cloora’s AI features use Apple’s built-in model, which works on your device; nothing you scan is sent anywhere.
Deleting your data
Privacy Dashboard › Delete all my data removes everything in one step. Deleting the Cloora app also deletes everything on your device. Backups you made stay where you saved them, including your iCloud Backup, until you delete them. Cloora is not directed at children.
For everyone
What VMSTA Inc. receives
Nothing you scan or write in Cloora. Apart from the anonymous crash reports described above, VMSTA Inc. receives no information from Cloora. Because your documents exist only on your device and in backups you control, we cannot see, change or delete them for you — you manage them in the app.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask what personal information we hold about you. For Cloora, the answer is none. If you email us, our VMSTA Privacy Policy explains how we handle your message.
Changes
If the way Cloora handles data changes, we will update this policy and the date above, and the privacy screen in the app will say the same.
